Maple Fudge

Maple fudge is one of my favorite kinds of fudges.  Mostly because I grew up on maple syrup, being a maple farmer’s daughter and all.  This recipe is one of my family’s favorites treats.  I love to whip up a batch for special occasions.  You can always find maple fudge in our home during Christmas and dad’s birthday.

I start by spraying a pan with non-stick spray and setting it aside.  Next I combine butter, sugar, and evaporated milk in a medium saucepan.  Boil for 5 minutes while stirring continuously.  If you skip the stirring then you will end up burning the mixture and ruin your fudge.  I have definitely tried doing more then one thing while my fudge was boiling and ended up with burnt fudge.  SO please be careful.  If you do end up burning the mixture just start over don’t try to save it.  There’s no saving burnt fudge.

After 5 minutes remove saucepan from heat and stir in marshmallow and maple extract.  Once it is completely combined stir in both types of chocolate.  Then you are ready to pour fudge into pre sprayed pan and allow too cool.  Once fudge is completely cooled you can cut up into pieces and enjoy.

We love fudge around here and eat it with anything.  But I do hear it makes a great dessert with a glass of cold milk.
