American Buttercream Frosting
The most delicious frosting ever made! Once you try this and see how easy it is to make I’m sure you will agree! I start off using a kitchen aid with the paddle attachment. This makes the frosting light and fluffy without all the air bubbles. No air bubbles means it’s easier to frosting a cake with.
I start by whipping the butter until it is light a fluffy. Next I add in the vanilla and mix till well blended. Now is the time I add a pinch of salt, this helps cut down on the sweet taste of the frosting. So it is not over powering.
Then I add in 1 cup at a time of the powdered sugar until it is all mixed in. Make sure you scrape the sides of the bowl every now and then to fully incorporate the ingredients.
Lastly add in the heavy whipping cream. Just add more whipping cream if you prefer a lighter frosting. Just remember the lighter the frosting the harder it is to work with while decorating.
The finally step once everything is combined is to let the mixer run on medium and whip the frosting for a about 2 minutes. This helps remove any air bubbles that may be in the frosting.
