Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
Number one frosting my dad loves is chocolate buttercream. It took awhile to find the right recipe but I finally got it. Chocolate buttercream is buttercream frosting with chocolate mixed in. Doesn’t seem that hard and it isn’t as I kept it simple by just adding cocoa powder. I have tried other recipes with melted milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and even white chocolate, but non-compare to the taste of simple cocoa powder. For this recipe you can use either milk chocolate cocoa powder or dark chocolate cocoa powder. Either work fine it just depends how rich you would like your frosting.
Super simple recipe here goes. Whip butter on high with electric mixer. Then I turn the kitchen aid to slow and add vanilla and cocoa powder. Once all mixed I slowly add 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon heavy cream. I alternate these until all 4 cups and tablespoons have been added. If your frosting seems to thick add more heavy cream and if it seems to thin add more powdered sugar. Once the frosting is the consistency I like I turn the mixer on high and let it whip around for about 2 minutes to remove any air bubbles this helps when you go to pipe or frosting a cake.
